The Studer VarioString VS-120 is a dual MPPT solar charge controller rated 120A at 48V, delivering up to 7kW per unit. Its two fully isolated MPPT inputs can be wired independently or in parallel (2 x 3.5kWp, 200-600Voc) or in series (7kWp, 400-900Voc), giving great flexibility in string design and reducing balance-of-system costs. Tool-free SUNCLIX PV connectors, full isolation between PV and battery, programmable ground fault protection and protection against incorrect wiring make installation safe and simple. Best-in-class tracking gives MPPT efficiency >99% with >98% conversion efficiency, while night self-consumption stays below 1.25W. A fully programmable 4-stage charger (Bulk, Absorption, Float, Equalization) and 9 status LEDs support long battery life, and up to 15 units can be paralleled for 105kW. It integrates with Studer Xtender systems for synchronized battery management, with display, programming and data logging via the optional RCC-02/-03 and web access through Xcom-LAN or Xcom-GSM.
