The Victron SmartSolar Charge Controller MPPT 250/100-Tr VE.Can is an ultra-fast MPPT solar charge controller rated at 100 A charge current, accepting a PV array voltage of up to 250 V (absolute maximum in the coldest conditions). It automatically selects 12/24/48 V battery voltage (36 V manual) and handles up to 5800 W of PV power on a 48 V battery bank. Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking improves energy harvest by up to 30 % compared to PWM charge controllers and by up to 10 % compared to slower MPPT controllers, while the SmartSolar algorithm locks onto the optimum MPP even under partial shading. Maximum efficiency exceeds 99 % with no cooling fan. Bluetooth Smart is built in for set-up, monitoring, updating and synchronising, and VE.Can plus VE.Direct allow a wired data connection to a Color Control GX or other GX device, PC or other devices. Up to 25 units can be synchronised over VE.Can (10 units over Bluetooth). Other features include a fully programmable eight-preset charge algorithm selectable with a rotary switch, a programmable relay, remote on-off, fully discharged battery recovery, extensive electronic protection, and an optional pluggable LCD display. This is the "Tr" version with 35 mm² / AWG2 screw terminals for the PV connection (not MC4 connectors).
