The Phocos FR230-B is a 238 litre DC chest appliance that runs directly from a 12 V or 24 V battery bank without an inverter, and works as either a refrigerator or a freezer depending on the thermostat setting. It uses a maintenance-free brushless DC compressor, environmentally friendly R600a refrigerant and an aluminium inner lining with drain plug for easy cleaning. A BOOST switch lets the user trade efficiency for faster cooling, and the unit is internally protected against low voltage and reverse polarity.
